Visted Fort Eben-Emael today

Rik the friend I am staying with told me about Fort Eben-Emael which is quite near the village lives in so I took a walk to see it.

Fort Eben-Emael was build to defend Belgium from attack from the east primarily by destroying 3 bridges which cross the Albert Canal.

Church I passed in Vroenhoven on the way to the canal.

To give you an idea of scale the white blob on the left of the picture is a transit van type vehicle.

Cool caves I found in the canal walls. Unfortunately no torch so I could not investigate further.
